Nothing in a chart certifies a soulmate, and this page does not pretend otherwise. What exists is a short list of contacts people consistently report as feeling inevitable, and a widespread habit of quoting them without their orbs.
This calculator finds those contacts in two real charts and prints how tight each one is. If they are absent it says so rather than widening the search until something appears.
What it looks for
The nodal axis first. Contacts between one person's planets and the other's north or south node are the most cited fated signature in the modern literature, and the reading is that the connection carries something predetermined.
Then tight luminary and angle contacts: Sun to Moon, Sun to ascendant, Moon to ascendant, within three degrees. Those are what people describe when they say a meeting felt like recognition.
Then the eighth and twelfth house overlays, which are read as depth and as something operating below the level of choice.
Why the orb decides everything here
A nodal contact at six degrees is arithmetic. At half a degree it is the thing both people mention unprompted.
Soulmate writing routinely quotes contacts without saying how tight they are, which is how almost any two charts can be made to look fated. Every orb is printed on this page for that reason, and anything past three degrees should be read as background.
