Free Daily Horoscope for Gemini

Everything on this page is calculated from where the planets actually are today. No part of it was written by anyone in advance, and none of it predicts an event.

How this reading is produced

Sign-based horoscopes work by treating your sign as the first house and counting the other eleven from there. That is called the solar house method, and it is what every daily horoscope is doing whether or not it says so.

This page does it from the real positions. The Moon's house, your ruling planet's house, the retrogrades and the close aspects are all computed in your browser when the page loads, which is why the reading changes each day without anyone writing it.

What it deliberately does not do

It does not predict events, name outcomes, or tell you what kind of day to expect. A statement like the Moon is in your sixth house today is checkable against an ephemeris. A statement like romance is in the air is not, and this page does not make them.

What the reading gives you is where the sky is and which area of life that falls in when counted from Gemini. Deciding what to do with that is your work.

Why a sun sign reading is limited

Solar houses are an approximation. They assume the first house begins at zero degrees of your sign, which is true for nobody: real houses begin at the degree that was rising when you were born, which needs a birth time and a birthplace.

The result is that everyone born under Gemini gets the same houses here, and these readings differ from each other only in which sign is counted as first. A full birth chart uses your actual houses and is considerably more specific.

Your ruling planet

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, and where that body sits is the closest a sign-based reading gets to something personal. Its house, its sign and any close aspect to it are listed in the reading above.

Mercury turns retrograde three or four times a year, so the ruling-planet section below flags a reversal more often for Gemini and Virgo than for any other sign.

About the sign itself

Gemini is mutable air, and the Sun is in it between roughly 21 May and 20 June each year. Those dates shift by up to a day and a half because the tropical year is not a whole number of days, which is why cusp birthdays need the actual position rather than a table.

The Gemini page covers what the sign does to any planet placed in it, which is a different question from what the sky is doing today.

Questions people ask about this

Who writes these horoscopes?

Nobody. Every statement on the page is computed from the actual planetary positions for today when the page loads. There is no copy written in advance.

What is a solar house?

Your sign treated as the first house, with the other eleven counted from there. It is what every sign-based horoscope does, and this page states it plainly rather than leaving it implied.

Why does it not tell me what will happen?

Because a chart does not contain events. What is checkable is where the bodies are and which house they fall in; what happens is not in the arithmetic.

How is this different from my birth chart?

Solar houses assume the first house starts at zero degrees of Gemini, which is true for nobody. A birth chart uses the degree that was actually rising at your birth, which needs a time and a place.

Does it update by itself?

Yes. The positions are recalculated every time the page opens, so it is current whenever you look at it.

Is my sun sign really Gemini?

If your birthday is near a boundary it is worth checking against the real solar position rather than a date range. The sun sign calculator gives the exact degree.
